Hallmark.co.uk brings you the quality and choice you'd expect from such an established name in the greeting card business, with the ease and convenience of buying greeting cards online.

Hallmark.co.uk is a colourful, nice looking site that's easy to find your way around. From the homepage, you'll find a number of tabs that will take you to the various products that can be purchased. Running along the top of the homepage you'll see 3 tabs that link to printed greeting cards and ecards. There are also tabs to return to the homepage and to access your account details if you have registered on the site. Below these tabs are other links to card categories arranged by location. Therefore, it's easy to get browsing. There's also a fairly useful search engine that enables you to locate cards ordered by occasion (e.g. anniversary, Chinese New Year, Diwali) and recipient, though for some reason you cannot specify anything other than 'all recipients', making this search criterion fairly useless. However, it's good to see such a good range of occasions covered by a greeting card site, especially non-Christian holidays. So, if you're looking for a Bar/Bat-Mitzvah, Eid or Chinese New Year card, this is the place to come. You can also enter your own search terms into the search engine if you have something specific in mind.

In terms of printed cards, Hallmark has quite a reputation and so what you'll find here is a great range of quality products. You'll find some great card ranges from the likes of Disney, Toy Story, Forever Friends and other familiar characters. There are plenty of cards to choose from too, e.g. 1616 birthday cards alone. However, other occasions may not have as wide a selection. If you place an order before 2.00pm from Monday to Friday, your order will be despatched by first class mail that day. If you order at the weekend or on a public holiday, your cards will be mailed the next working day. You can choose to have the cards sent back to you for you to mail, or mailed straight to the recipient. It's also easy to track your order if you have a Hallmark account, for complete peace of mind. In addition, with all printed cards Hallmark.co.uk pledge to refund your money if you're not completely happy with your order.

You'll also find a wide range of ecards available on the site, courtesy of Smilebox.com. There are several hundred cards to choose from, covering most occasions and themes, including general everyday cards. You can add photos and music to your ecards too. In addition to ecards, you can also create slideshows and collages with your uploaded images. There are many features to keep you occupied and to help you make the most of your pictures. Ecards are also free to send or share on Facebook. You can also purchase premium designs (over 800 to choose from costing from £1.99-£4.99), which enables you to also print the ecards, send without advertisments and get more music choices to accompany your ecard. You can also subscribe to Smilebox.com for a monthly (£3.99) or annual (£24.95) fee. Whilst this might appeal to some, it's not worth it as there are plenty of free ecard sites around. For most people the cards are the most important thing, and it's in this area that Hallmark.co.uk does very well.

In terms of other features, there isn't all that much; as a dedicated greeting card site it's refreshing to see a site that focuses upon greeting cards and not superfluous features that you're unlikely to need. Whilst you shouldn't have too many problems finding your way round, most queries should be resolved by the very detailed and comprehensive help section available on the site. If you need help more quickly, you can call the customer careline (8.00am-8.00pm GMT Monday-Friday, 9.00am-1.00pm GMT Saturdays).

Whilst Hallmark.co.uk might not have quite the same level of choice in terms of customisation options, the choice is still great and the name speaks for itself. Most occasions and themes are covered here and the quality is such that you'd be crazy not to at least stop by and browse their range. With some great priced cards that you can have shipped to you or mailed to recipients, it's simply one of the best greeting card sites in this category.
